Travel Information
Passport & Visa
British passport holders do not require a visa to visit Tunisia. Below is a list of countries whose citizens do not require a visa to visit Tunisia if travelling on a package holiday organised by an recognised tour operator:
If your country is not on this list then you must apply for a tourist visa.
Please note: Visa requirements can change so it is always worth checking with your embassy.
Please note that from October 1st 2014 all foreign visitors to Tunisia will be expected to pay a Tourist tax in the form of a stamp placed on their passports at the time of leaving the country.
This applies to adults and children, one stamp per person, departing from Tunisia on October 1st and later, which means arrivals in September as early as the 15th for 2 weeks are affected by this decision.
This stamp has the value of 30 Tunisian Dinars (approx €13 Euro or £10 Pounds or $19 US Dollar).
The stamp will be available to purchase in Tunisia and paid in Tunisian Dinar at the airport banks and tax offices in town.
This tax was debated for nearly 2 years and was initially going to be collected by hotels on arrival or included in the holiday package in the form of 2 Tunisian Dinars per night of stay but finally the National Assembly voted the law that specifies the tax to be only in the form of a stamp purchased locally by the clients and placed in their passports for the immigration officer to check and stamp at the moment of boarding.
It is therefore important that all clients already booked as well as all new bookings are informed from now that they need to budget this amount before arriving in Tunisia for each person travelling. Our staff will assist locally with giving the right information as to where and how the stamps can be purchased.
